A MAN was granted bail after being accused of trespassing onto a woman’s property in Crooked Island where he watched her in her night clothes without her knowledge.

Levant Wright Jr, 19, of Crooked Island, faced Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on charges of voyeurism and trespassing.

He is accused of surreptitiously observing a woman in her pyjamas while trespassing in the confines of her residence on August 27 in Landrail Point.

The prosecution raised objections to Wright’s bail on the basis that the defendant has similar antecedents.

However, Magistrate Vogt-Evans granted the accused $5,000 bail with one or two sureties. Under the conditions of his bail, Wright is expected to sign in at Colonel Hill Police Station in Crooked Island every Monday by 7pm.

Wright was also ordered to be outfitted with an electronic monitoring device and observe a 7pm to 8am curfew at his residence.

His matter was sent to Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson Pratt for a trial date. Wright is expected to apply for his next court date in Crooked Island when he begins his weekly sign-ins there.
