I hope you can help me. I clearly remember there being hopes last year that the road works on Village Road would have been completed by the start of the school term.

Perhaps we should have asked which school term. I drove along there today and while the road itself has been completed, a year on from when there was talk of everything being finished, workers are still constructing pavements, and traffic lights are still not working.

Over the months, I have seen too many crashes at junctions which should normally have lights to direct traffic.

I dread to think what the cost of a whole extra year of work has been for the taxpayer – but please, please, at least let the traffic lights be working before the school run begins again.
