A MOTHER, accused of abusing her nine-month-old son during the summer, was given $5,000 bail.
Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain charged the 27-year-old woman, whose name is being withheld to protect the child’s identity, with cruelty to children.
The mother was accused of exposing her infant son to unnecessary suffering, causing injury to his health on June 20.
After pleading not guilty, the accused was informed that her bail would be $5,000 with one or two sureties. She will go to trial on December 8.
