The Bahamas’ image and reputation as a safe place for Canadian tourists has now been impacted by the Canadian Government issuing a warning to Canadian tourist citizens that the Bahamas has a high crime rate of murders, robberies and rapes. I am deeply saddened to be sharing this news. The severe impact on Tourism because of the high crime rate, murders, robberies and rapes will definitely have an impact on Bahamas Tourism with American, Canadian and European tourists who are now being warned that the Bahamas is unsafe for tourists to travel, it should be noted that all Travel Agents must inform all their clients who will be deciding to purchase tickets to the Bahamas of the US State Department issuing an advisory warning that American tourists should be careful when travelling to the Bahamas because of high crime rate and so will Travel Agents be informing Canadian tourist citizens when purchasing a tickets to the Bahamas about the Canadian Government issuing a warning that the Bahamas is unsafe for Canadian tourist citizens because of the high crime rate of murders, robberies and rapes.

Prime Minister Philip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper and Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe do not seem to be taking this matter seriously and seem to be showing that they lack the understanding of the situation that is about to destroy the Bahamas Tourism industry, image and reputation. That can soon cause hotel owners to start laying off thousands of Bahamian hotel workers. As a result of low numbers of American, Canadian and European travellers visiting the Bahamas. I have a comprehensive crime reduction and prevention plan to protect tourists travelling to the Bahamas, Bahamian people’s lives and properties, deter gangs and eliminate criminal enterprise organizations in the Bahamas to restore the Bahamas’ image and reputation as a safe place for American Canadian and European tourists to travel.

I am asking Church leaders, Business owners and the Bahamian people to join Pedro Smith and BFP Party to become the next Prime Minister of the Bahamas and Government. One Nation, One people, One Bahamas, One God onward forward and upward to a better and greater Bahamas.
