A MAN was sentenced to two months in prison yesterday after admitting to lying to an officer and having drugs last Monday.

Magistrate Raquel Whyms charged John Cadet, aka “Johnny Victor”, 47, with possession of dangerous drugs and deceit of a public officer.

Cadet was found with a quantity of marijuana in New Providence on March 18. On the same day, while attempting to evade capture, Cadet gave a false statement to PC 4459 Seymour.

After pleading guilty to both charges, the defendant was sentenced to two months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
