I couldn't agree more. Anybody willing to invest their hard earned money in a place run by this crew certainly needs to have their mental faculties questioned.

Should administer “psychological evaluations” to all politicians first and foremost! Mandatory ethics courses would go far as well, though they'd all achieve the national grade average. 98% of them would be weeded out by the above two criteria. How about along with financial statements we require "outside children counts"? Default loan information? Bounced checks declarations? Arrogant, ignorant and self serving.

Mitchell and Roberts just stop it with your stupid comments! There you go, doing what you are best at, threatening people that dare speak of your incompetence. There’s more us now seeing clearly now. Was once a fool, but no more! No one believes in you anymore, get it? The young people are opening their eyes! Beware, because once their eyes are opened, you are in BIG trouble, mister! Your gov’t has been too busy stealing and going to parties to take the time to look around at the desperate state of our people. You all don’t even throw us a crumb unless we walk the party line! Now you want to talk about Bahamian or not. You should be ashamed of yourself, using us as pawn in your crooked game. You are not Bahamian, you are PLP and that does not equate, not in your current diseased mental state. You want respect for PGC, there is nothing there to respect, he has disgraced the title, he has disgraced our country and we are all in this mess because bad leaders, starting with LOP. I’d say you just don’t have the mental capacity to understand the harm you are doing but it’s been proven that the reason for the disgrace found in our government is greed, solely greed! You know you can get away with it because your disgraced LOP has sadly been your guiding force. Poor you…it’s all you know, to lie, steal, threaten and grab it all for yourself. A sad, sad shame the path our beloved Bahamas is being led to.

Hey, Tribune Peeps - shouldn't the headline read:

What a disgrace.

The Foreign Minister wants to talk about evicting someone who has invested 13 years and $900m into the Bahamas, because he disagrees with the Christie's attempt to nationalise Baha Mar? Can he explain how Sarkis is not acting "in the public interest". What he means is he is not acting in the PLP's interest.

Apparently expatriates should also be sent home as “They criticise the politics of the country."

The leader of the free world, President Obama, is criticized constantly, but somehow Christie is above criticism to the extent someone is threatened with deportation?

Apparently “money does not buy our silence and our subservience.”, unless it comes from the Chinese I guess. I haven't heard a single PLP minister complain about CCA, the sole reason why the resort is not open.

I don't think that we will EVER be able to get passed this current embarrassment.

This guy has no concept of the long term damage that he is causing our country. China never thought that taking over The Bahamas would be so easy. They don't even have to work for it. They are just sitting back and letting our coconut heads fight for the right to be called the dumbest.

Well if it is not the position of the government then you need to discipline them. You weak, poor excuse for a leader.

Maybe as a part of our overall assessment, when we are looking at allowing developers to come to the Bahamas, to look at having them do a psychological evaluation

Oh. My. God.

These are politicians. High ranking Government people.

The international embarrassment and shame this crew are bringing on the Bahamas is never ending.

Truly ashamed to be part of this nation.

So, now we live in a Communist country where people can't speak their minds or against politicians or policies? Wow....guess china's reach has gotten deeper into the Bahamas than originally thought! Watch out Bahamas, you'll be the next communist nation. What next...limiting the number of children people can have? Or where they can travel?

Wideawake 10 years, 6 months ago on Butler-Turner questions govt’s neutrality in Baha Mar negotiations

The Bahamas government has been caught red-handed in a conspiracy to defraud Sarkis Izmirlian of his $800 million investment in Baha Ma, and, to use their policy advisors' own words, "push him out"!!!

The Prime Minister, and members of his Cabinet who were complicit in this devious scheme, should hang their heads in shame, and do the honorable thing; RESIGN!! to minimize the damage they have caused to the good name of The Bahamas!

Many Bahamians groaned out loud when they heard that Mr. Christie had resurrected the geriatric Baltron Bethel to serve as a highly paid consultant in his so-called New PLP government. Bethel, who was named in the Commission of Enquiry, is exactly the type of corruption smeared "Old PLP" political operative that should never have been allowed to participate in our government.

It seems poetic justice that it was "Bagman Bethel" who screwed up and inadvertently "let the cat out of the bag!!."... and now the World can see the true motives behind this ill-advised and disgraceful, Involuntary Liquidation plot!!

If it weren't our country, this would be pure comedy. Nobody is at the tiller and all of the kindergarten babies in the cabinet are running wild. Perry Christie's head has left the building and no one is in charge of anything.

Bahamian_in_London 10 years, 6 months ago on UPDATED: Rosewood bids to quit Baha Mar as govt argues for wind up petition

This is the start of the end.

It was sadly inevitable when the PLP stopped chapter 11 being recognised by the supreme court and prevented the debtor in possession financing being approved, as well as failing to pay foreign workers.

It doesn't matter if the building is complete, the Government's and the Chinese will have control of an empty shell, with no one willing to operate the hotels.

It was so obvious this would happen, yet they persisted to follow their own selfish and ego driven agenda. Shame on you Christie and you're gang of hacks. You have failed this country.

The country stands with you, young Mr. Mackey. The country does not stand with the PM and shame on the Tribune for leading with a headline that labelled your painting tasteless, even though most Bahamians love your painting and support your freedom of speech to express yourself through art. The Tribune should not have done that. They call out the government time and time again, but when a Bahamian artist does it, they call it tasteless in the headline? You are a voice for the voiceless and too many Bahamians feel like their voices have been ignored by this shameless, deceitful and corrupt government that lies and steals from the people without a second thought. Shame on this government and shame on our worthless PM and his worthless Cabinet.

Well_mudda_take_sic 10 years, 6 months ago on UPDATED: Rosewood bids to quit Baha Mar as govt argues for wind up petition

Rosewood has probably given thought to the serious conflicts of interest that both Christie and Maynard-Gibson have in their maliciously meddlesome involvement in the Baha Mar dispute, including the grossly unfair favouritism shown by the corrupt Christie-led PLP government towards the Chinese general contract and Chinese lender, and decided its better to explore opportunities opening up in Cuba. The anti-foreigner sentiment of 'Freddy Boy' Mitchell and 'Bumpy Head Shameless' Shane Gibson no doubt also helped Rosewood decide that Bahamas is no longer a suitable place to do business.

Really Shane? I actually think a psych evaluation should be administered to all potential voters to determine their eligibility. If you are easily bribed, live in an era long past (see 1960s to 1980s), and are not grounded in reality, believing in this circus that is the modern day PLP, then you should not be allowed to vote. How many of us lament that it is people like these that have landed us in this mess, giving up their vote for so little to hand power over to your corrupt government? You also need a psychiatric examination if you, your leader and the cabinet think that all this smokescreen bull is swaying the thinkers among us. Shut up. You all have destroyed this country and every time I think it cannot get worse you people find a way. Are you all even thinking about the long term ramifications for this country and those of us not on the take by the actions, stupidity and power tripping you are displaying? Just how will we recover from this? We went on a fast ride to hell when you all came to power, with a minority of the votes. Even the pre-1992 years, marked by the shame of this being a corrupt, drug infested nation, doesn't seem as awful as this. Question is, who will do the clean up for us now? Twenty three years onward and you all have managed to undo the cleansing that the first FNM government achieved for us. You of all people, with your track record, should not be speaking. Good God please deliver us.
