Hurdler Pedrya Seymour making a comeback
ALTHOUGH she’s been inactive since she made her second appearance at the Olympic Games in 2021 in Tokyo, Japan, former Bahamian 100 metre hurdles record holder Pedrya Seymour is looking forward to giving it another shot. Now back in training with her original coach George Cleare in Louisiana, Seymour is working towards making the team that will represent the Bahamas at the Olympics in Paris, France, July 27 to August 11.
Joanna Evans ends up 3rd overall
With a first and second place finish in the women’s 400 and 200 metre freestyle races respectively in her regional competition in San Antonio, Texas, Grand Bahamian Joanna Evans placed third overall in both events at the US Open Swimming Championships.

BOC calling for commission to assist local student-athletes
WITH the way the landscape of sports is shaping up around the world in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Bahamas Olympic Committee president Romell Knowles is calling for the formation of a commission to assist local student-athletes. When the BOC hosts their next board meting next week, Knowles is expected to introduce a proposal for the country’s top sporting organisation to provide $10,000 to assist with the administration of the commission, once it is formed.
