PROMINENT Bahamian Sir Durward Knowles is reportedly doing well in hospital after being checked in for a "severe" cold.
Family friends say Sir Durward's relatives wanted to take no chances with his illness and took him to Doctors Hospital where he is presently under observation.
Minister of Social Services Loretta Butler-Turner had asked the public to offer their prayers to Sir Durward on her Facebook page.
"Send a prayer to Heaven for our beloved Sir Durward Knowles. Pray for his full and speedy recovery. We love you, Sir Durward!" she said.
"He is hospitalised. Not sure yet what the diagnosis is. However, as you know he is almost a centenarian, so he's not as strong as he used to be."
A hospital spokesman declined to comment.
