Fun and money on a jitney

EVERYDAY thousands of people ride the jitney in Nassau.

Now, thanks to a brand new ZNS-TV programme, jitney riders all over the island will have a chance to not only get to their destination but win money while they do it.

Similar in concept to the world famous game show “Cash Cab”, “Jitney 242” will give jitney passengers chances to answer questions as they travel to their destination and win cash for every correct answer.

However, if they fail to get the right answer to three questions, they will lose the money they have won and they have to exit the jitney.

Host Chigozie Ijeoma of “Gippy’s Kingdom” fame greets unsuspecting riders as they step aboard a jitney, prepared only for a ride, and gives them the surprise of their lives when he invites them to play “Jitney 242”. What happens next, ZNS said, makes for one of the most enjoyable and laugh-filled half hours in Bahamian television history.

Executive producer Sean Adderley said “Jitney 242” could boost the jitney business as more and more people jump on looking to win some cash.

“We are very excited about this first season of ‘Jitney 242’ and we know this show is going to be a big hit not only with Bahamians who ride the jitney and want to win cash, but also with those who will win cash and prizes with our online ‘watch and win’ on Facebook,” he said.

“We are really looking forward to this programme and expect a great response from everyone who watches.”

“Jitney 242”, an all-Bahamian television game show, is expected to debut on ZNS-TV this month.
