THE countdown is on for the Sir Victor Sassoon Heart Foundation’s 52nd Annual Heart Ball.

The glamorous event will be held on February 13 at the Meliá Nassau Beach Resort and will provide the financial support to the life-saving work the Heart Foundation continues to do in helping those in dire need of heart surgery.

There will be a silent auction, table prizes, a raffle and much more on the night.

Entertainment during the evening will be provided by Soulful Groovers, the Ed Brice Orchestra, the Royal Defence Force Band and DJ Super Johnson.

There will also be a special presentation of the Golden Heart Award 2015, which is a public nominated award to an individual who has “given selflessly of themselves to promote human welfare and dignity, while making life better for his fellow man”.

“Attendees can expect a wonderful evening of elegance, world-class entertainment with music from every era to dance the night away, tasty food from the hotel and drinks flowing throughout the night,” said Sandra Kemp, public relations officer of the Heart Ball Committee.

Ms Kemp said the foundation is relying heavily on the generosity of the general public.

“The Foundation is the Bahamas’ oldest non-profit organisation, and with the public’s generous supporters helped save over 4,000 Bahamian lives since 1961. Some 97 per cent of every dollar raised goes directly to fund heart procedures. This means people can be assured that by coming out to the ball, participating in the silent auction and the raffle, their donations will be put to excellent use,” she said.

The Heart Ball Committee is the fundraising arm of the Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation. The Heart Foundation’s mission is to help repair the hearts of children throughout the islands of the Bahamas.
