The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released this statement on Saturday evening, after a report on US media:
"Today on MSNBC Cable News, on a show hosted by Joy-Ann Reid a guest, Malcolm Nance, a reported expert in security and terrorism, made the following statement:
' We [ the United States] have not banned terrorists from Brazil. ISIS has dozens of members from Brazil or Trinidad or The Bahamas who have more terrorists members than any of those other countries.'
In today's atmosphere, the video clip is being spread around at a clipped pace.
Upon hearing the report, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell spoke with the Prime Minister, the National Security Minister, the Head of SIB in the Royal Bahamas Police Force, all of whom are responsible for the country's national security and they have no knowledge of any such terrorists or group of terrorists or any individual terrorist that is related to ISIS or any other terrorist organization in The Bahamas.
In speaking with ZNS TV news this evening, the Minister said the report is rubbish.
He indicated that the Bahamas Mission to the United States has been asked to reach out to US counterparts, to MSNBC and the Mr. Nance himself to find out what the source of the allegation is. The Mission has been asked to ask for a retraction forthwith."

Comrades! Why has it not been possible for the Rt. Honourable Prime Minister Perry in now almost 5 years as Chief Minister his Cabinet to have cloned just one more "People's Minister" likes Minister Freddy? When Minister Freddy stood at the PLP's convention podium the 1433 delegates should have fallen to their knees to give thanks that there is at least one "People's Minister" serving in the PLP Cabinet.

Comrade Banker, when Minister Freddy responds quickly even when he stands alone among his cabinet colleagues to protect the international image, reputation, security and sovereignty of The Bahamaland - it's not a political thing to standup for the people and their most important source of paycheques - Tourism.
Comrade Malcolm Nance, must forthwith be summoned to the Washington Embassy of The Bahamaland to be nipped in the butt to be made to fully explain and justify his damaging statements about our Homeland - and if he can't, he must apologize to the people of The Bahamaland.

Malcome Nance if he knows about terrorist operating in the Bahamas, He Should inform the USA so that they can be arrested. These are serious Charges. Nance seemed angry he was just out spewing out stuff. The Bahamas is a small Country and the Terrorist he spoke off should be easy to identify..Mr :Mitchell is on the job ,he should be given credit.

Comrade Economist, a renewed respect for you that you would put your country first above the abundance petty politics we have lived under for the past 5 years. Thankfully, this is not the US government making such outrageously dangerous accusations against our Homeland but that of one individual that now seems want the world to believe that we have terrorists living up in our coconut trees. An individual that makes a more than comfortable living appearing on politically slanted TV and radio shows, writing books and paid speeches - all about instilling fear of other people in people - mostly in the hearts of the American audiences that tune-in to these various media outlets.

Nance has already retracted. It wasn't Fweddie who showed that Nance was blowing smoke but a Bahamian on Twitter named James Julmis -- a new Baha Mar employee who works in Security and Dispatch, who took Nance on. Nance made a half-assed explanation (copying MSNBC on it) saying that he thought that the Brussels attacker had a Bahamian passport, which was not true. Nance spelled Bahamian as Bahamaian. Then Julmis ask "you make the statement on one individual" and Nance blocked him, but not before saying something to the effect of "look at how Trump views the Bahamas".
This whole thing is a tempest in a teapot. Nance is a self-aggrandizer (just like Fweddy, I might add). His contributor to counter terrorism support was as a cryptographer. However he tried to parlay his service into running a counter-terrorism school, and then a "think-tank". Have a photo of himself with the weaponry is hilarious. In his military service, he was a CPO which is a non-commissioned officer rank -- meaning that he was a working slug and not one of the thinkers in the counter-terrorism unit.
I don't think anyone seriously thinks that there are more ISIL terrorists in Brazil or Trinidad OR the Bahamas, than in the 7 countries that Trump banned. Anyone knew that he was blowing smoke. The real damage, is that he, as an African American came across as a clown and a bullshit artist, giving the particularly racist element and white nationalist movement surfacing with the Trump regime, another crack at Black people in general.

Kudos to Minister Mitchell for calling out the American media for its lies. Most of us here long ago became sick of the marxstream media's endless scoldings, false tales, and inanities and shut them off. Permanently.

The Marxstream medianiks' credibility is shot and they'll never regain it.

Most of us here ignore the TV news completely, knowing it can not be trusted, period.
When reading print media, many long ago realized that to get the truth, skip the article and go straight to the blog comments - the readers tell the truth, always.

Bahamians will not be able to visit the U.S. for a long time if the NSA and CIA prepared dossiers on Perry Christie, Allyson Maynard-Gibson, Baltron Bethel or Fweddy Boy ever end up on Trump's desk in the Oval Office for his reading. Bahamians will be flying South or far North to Canada to do their shopping which will be much more costlier thereby enabling local wholesale and retail merchants to jack up their already sky high exorbitant prices charged to Bahamian consumers. My oh my, what a difference a corrupt government like our Crooked Christie-led PLP government makes in a Trump world. Christie, Maynard-Gibson, Bethel and Mitchell can run but they cannot hide from what will eventually be coming their way under a Trump-led U.S. administration! And because Bahamians were foolish enough to elect these manifestly corrupt officials, they too will suffer the wrath of Uncle Sam in Trump's new world where the exceptionalism of Americans will be restored in the process of the U.S. making itself great again! The U.S. government and most Bahamians fortunately know Fweddy Boy is nothing but a half-baked tootsie-fruity tart in perpetual anger mode! The U.S. government undoubtedly also appreciates that the real existential threat to the Bahamas (and by extension the Southern U.S.) is Red China as there is every indication our Crooked Christie-led PLP government has served the sovereignty of the Bahamas to Red China on a feted platter with the Izmirlian family as the tossed salad with dressing on the side! Bahamians want and have every right to know what was the quid pro quo for Crooked Christie wrongfully selling our country to Red China and throwing the Izmirlian family under the bus in the process of doing so. As for Fweddy Boy, well, quite frankly, he's just a well-known irrelevant, immature and forever angry imbecile who can't even oversee the most basic of tasks, like the timely issuance of Bahamian passports. We can only imagine the high level of internalized chuckling that goes on at the U.N. and within the global diplomatic community at large whenever our limelight seeking Fweddy Boy speaks ;-) This guy is really a shameful embarrassment for all of us and we can only hope the international community does not think any of us are like him or support him. Our incompetent Crooked Christie is solely responsible for having foisted the warped mentality of Fweddy Boy on the good people of the Bahamas for all these years.
