Family matters: Fam Fest attracts international gospel artists

THE largest number of international gospel artists since Fam Fest’s inception attended this year’s concert at Arawak Cay last weekend.

BTC once again partnered with Fam Entertainment for the three-day family branded concert under the theme “After the Storm”, which featured a number of stars, including Denczil & Friends, Najee Dunn and Oslien Jadorte.

Other performers included gospel sensation Jonathan McReynolds and gospel reggae artist Nigel Lewis.

BTC Senior Manager of Events and Sponsorships Carol Barnett said: “This is the largest gospel event in the country, and BTC was happy to have a presence there.

This is a major event for the country as it affords Bahamians the opportunity to see a plethora of local and international artists here in their backyard.”

Last year, BTC also supported the event and also held a five-week reality show styled competition in conjunction with Fam Entertainment. In the end, Moore’s Island native Dwight Martin won the competition, beating almost 200 other contestants for first place.

Created by Mark Cartwright, Fam Fest is an annual family festival built on the foundation of Bahamian gospel music, good food and clean fun. Fam Fest has grown tremendously over the years since its debut in 1996.
