There is absolutely nothing that compares with the joy, comfort and confidence that one experiences when one is walking daily with Jesus. Here I am referring to a spiritual walk of course. The Apostle Paul refers to the experience as “the peace of God which passeth all understanding” (Philippians 4:7) Jesus tells us in John 14:27 (KJV): “My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
It is an inescapable fact of life that we shall encounter trials and tribulations as we continue along life’s journey. However, it is comforting to know that Jesus is always available to us and that He will intercede on our behalf with God when we humbly turn to Him. Irrespective of the challenges, we know that God’s Word and prayer are available to us. Paul makes the point in Philippians 4:19 (KJV): “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Paul also wrote in verse: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Our faith and relationship with our Heavenly Father makes all the difference in our lives. God is love and He loves us beyond human understanding. Jesus died for our sins to secure us an eternal place in Heaven. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35) We can go about our way every single day in the knowledge that we are covered by the blood of Christ and the love of God.
The Holy Spirit will keep us within His divine providence and as believers we know in our hearts that the angels are always by our side. Such blessed assurance can be confusing and misunderstood by those who do not know Christ in this special way. Our quiet confidence can be misinterpreted as arrogance or conceit by those who do not really know God as the rest of us do. Nothing can be further from the truth. Faith is based upon humility before the throne of God; grace emanates from the process of faith and humility. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:5 (KJV): “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” King David wrote in Psalm 37:11 (KJV): “But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”
As we continue along life’s path it is always useful to remember that we are on this earth for a season. The curtain shall eventually come down on us all. James 4:14 (KJV) records: “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
We should seek to live within God’s peace every day. Amen. Thanks be to God for the sharing of His Word.
