Courts and congestion

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The AG’s announcement to acquire 50 Shirley Street and adjourning to develop as a new Court complex has to beg the question … why again building in the centre of already congested Nassau? Ideally, surely the Courts could have been in the immediate area of the AG’s and National Security buildings University Drive …out of the way … no continuance of traffic snarls downtown and the seasonal ceremonials when RBPF block off downtown to the annoyance of all. No downtown within walking distance of the major Law Chambers...irrational surely we should be looking at the optimum decentralisation?

Didn’t past PLP AG Ms Allyson Maynard Gibson promote a new Court complex where Post Office and that large empty site is? That’s a good out of the way site.

PM — AG this needs a rethink ... why pay for expensive real estate when you have the real estate required absolutely - FREE?

Slick how the Bernard Road Court slipped in....there is only one complex that this could be … boy luck strikes complex been empty since building for six years...luck befalls the Ambassador, why couldn’t the AG identify the complex? Why?
